New Releases Available

We are pleased to announce the 2022.03 releases of CODE V, LightTools, and LucidShape.

CODE V

The latest release of CODE V facilitates smooth, full-system design and analysis. It includes improved interchange of CODE V lens prescriptions with LightTools solid models, and many usability improvements, such as sectioning of models, better edge visualization, and UI color themes.

  • Expanded import and update capabilities streamline data exchange with LightTools
  • API access to interactive CODE V GUI for improved usability for COM clients
  • Automatic adjustment to material indices based on temperature and pressure
  • Updates to diffractive and volume holographic optical elements
  • Improvements to 3D viewing for product visualization
  • New lens and optical element definitions to streamline design processes
  • Glass catalog and Macro-PLUS updates

LightTools

The LightTools 2022.03 release delivers the following major features, as well as many additional improvements that increase modeling and analysis capabilities and facilitate a more efficient workflow.

  • Expanded import and update capabilities streamline data exchange with CODE V
  • Surface-based modeling extends ray tracing to include surfaces, simplifies CAD import
  • Simulation enhancements provide additional support for AR/VR, HUD, and LiDAR optical systems
  • New SmartStart Library Module delivers a curated collection of materials and optical properties

LucidShape

LucidShape version 2022.03 provides many new features to streamline design and analysis of automotive lighting and simplify workflows.

Key improvements include:

  • Advanced Analysis tool that streamlines analysis steps, provides access to a wide range of new analysis tools, and simplifies interactive design analysis and troubleshooting
  • MacroFocal enhancements for freeform lens and reflector designs
  • Import/export improvements, including the ability to add multiple LucidShape files to a model
  • Automatic vertical aiming in test tables for each light distribution
  • The ability to project lux sensors onto the view plane
