SUSE Linux and Windows OS Support Changes for S-Foundation Releases (2021.06, 2021.09, 2021.12)

Important Notice: OS Platform Support Changes

SUSE Linux and Windows OS Support Changes for S-Foundation Releases (2021.06, 2021.09, 2021.12)

NOTE: This notice affects only customers using SUSE Linux Enterprise Server  and Microsoft Windows operating systems. If this does not apply to you, please disregard.

Dear Synopsys Customer:

Synopsys believes our customers need stable, well-supported operating systems on which to run their EDA tools. For Synopsys to align our support with the timelines of our OS and hardware vendors, we are updating the Synopsys Compute Platforms Roadmap.

This is to inform you, that starting with the 2021.06 (S-Foundation) software release:

  • For SUSE SLES, the minimum supported OS version will be SLES 12-SP4.
(SLES 12, 12-SP1, 12-SP2 and 12-SP3 will no longer be supported.)
  • For Windows OS, the minimum supported OS version will be Windows 10.
(Windows 7 will no longer be supported.)
  • For Windows OS, Windows Server 2016 remains the baseline (build) release.

The R-Foundation releases (2020.09, 2020.12, 2021.03) will be the final feature releases
to support SLES12, 12-SP1, 12-SP2, 12-SP3, or the Windows 7 operating system.

For the S-Foundation, other OS platforms such as CentOS and Red Hat Enterprise Linux
will continue to be supported.  For a list of supported platforms and OS versions, see the Supported Platforms Guide at /qsc

These changes do not change the support for prior software releases.  For OS platform support information on feature releases prior to 2021.06, and their Service Packs, see /qsc
