What is a badge?
A badge is a digital representation of a learning outcome, experience, or competency. At Synopsys, you earn a digital badge when you demonstrate acquiring the skills or knowledge required in the course by passing an exam.
Do I need to complete the course to take the exam?
Completing the course will prepare you better for the exam. However, it is not mandatory.
How long is the exam and what should I expect?
Questions presented will be in multiple choice, fill in the blank and True or False format. You must answer 50 questions in 60 minutes for most courses. For lighter courses, you must answer 25 questions in 30 minutes.
What is the pass rate?
You must achieve 85% or higher to pass the exam.
What if I do not pass the exam in my first attempt? Can I retry?
Yes, you may retry the exam again. However, we recommend going through the course or course material to increase your chances of passing the exam.
Will the same questions appear in my next attempt?
Questions are drawn randomly from a pool of questions and hence you will see a different mix each time you attempt the exam.
How will I know if I have earned a badge?
You will receive an email notification from Credly (admin@credly.com) with instructions for claiming your badge and setting up your account.

What if I do not want my badge to be public?
You can easily configure your privacy settings in Credly. You are in complete control of the information about yourself that is made public.
